A warm welcome to Year 2's class page.

On behalf of all the staff in Year 2, welcome to our class page. This is where you will find all the information you need to know about what we will be doing this term.

In Year 2, we always try to make our learning enjoyable and engaging so that it's memorable. We also work hard in lessons to reach clearly defined objectives and produce work of increasingly high quality.

We recognise that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. A strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child's education.

If you ever have any questions or would like a chat about subjects or progress, please do not hesitate to ask.

Mrs Goulbourne and Mrs Doyle

Branch 3 - Galilee to Jerusalem

In Branch 3, pupils will retell the account of John the Baptist and the baptism of Jesus. Children will aim to recognise that everyone is tempted to make bad choices (sin) but that God loves and forgives all people. They will begin to recognise miracles of Jesus as the Son of God. Children will use religious words and phrases to recognise how Catholics say sorry to God in prayer and talk about why saying sorry to God and others is important.

Homework is a valuable way of enhancing your child’s learning outside of the classroom as well as
helping them to develop their independence and organisational skills.

Year 2 children will receive the following homework:

English/Reading - children should try to read as frequently as possible. Reading books will be changed every Wednesday.

Maths - homework will be sent home on Fridays and is to be completed and returned to school the following Wednesday.
