Maths in Year 5

Place value 

This half term we are going to be working on Place Value, looking at how to make different numbers, using counters, place value grids, bar models and part whole models.

We compare, order and round numbers up to six digits and explore adding and subtracting numbers with more than 4 digits, including multi-step problems.

Multiplication and Division 

In this block we look at factors of numbers , prime numbers, sqaure numbers, cube numbers and multiplying and dividing by 10,100,1000.

Fractions 

After this, we dive into fractions! Comapring, converting, adding and subtracting.
